From the Men’s Captain

It is very  pleasing to see the large number of players in our Saturday and Wednesday competitions.  We have been having fields of over 220 players. These large numbers lead to longer times to play a round.

Some measures we can do to help with this are, being ready to hit off 10 minutes before your booked time. The lowest marker in your group  is the group captain.  He should ensure that you keep up with the group in front.  If you get behind, call the following group through.

Changes have been made to the phone scoring app.  Two signatures are now required.  The phone sends the score you are marking, not your own score. If a player is not using the phone you will both need to score on a card. This needs to be sorted out before you get to the tee.

Senior pennants start on Monday 27th March 2023. Metropolitan pennants start on 11th June.  A list for names of those wishing to play is in the card entry area.

The posters for handiskins are up. The 1st round is Saturday 18th March 2023.  Entry forms can be completed in at the golf shop.

Southern Cross Caravans and campers are sponsoring a new competition.  The winner of each Saturday competition will be eligible to play in a grand final on Saturday afternoon on 19th November 2023.  If a winner is not available the 2nd placed player will make the final.  There will be a normal competition in conjunction with this.  This competition is an exciting addition to our men’s program.

The time sheet for Opening Day on Sunday 19th March 2023 is open.  The format is a mixed Canadian foursomes.  If you require a partner please put your name on the sheet in the score card area.
