Dear Members,
We are thrilled to share some great news with you. Following Mandurah Country Club’s recognition as Metropolitan Facility of the Year at the Western Australian Golf Industry Awards, Golf Australia has now awarded Mandurah the title of Most Outstanding Club, Facility or Place to Play (Metropolitian), National Awards of Excellence.
This is a remarkable achievement for our entire club community.
When we began our strategic planning journey years ago, we knew it was unrealistic to aim to be the highest-rated or “best” course, due to restrictions in land, finances or demographics. Instead, our vision was clear: to become the Club of Choice in our region and offer the best value golf membership. We committed to this through responsible governance, sound financial management, and a structured approach to continuous facility improvement—all with the goal of enhancing member services.
This award reflects that vision. Golf Australia specifically recognised the outstanding value provided to our members, which has always been a priority.
They also acknowledged our deep commitment to the broader community:
– Our strong golf development programs that drive participation.
– Support for community groups, especially our partnership with Indigenous youth through the Clontarf Academy.
– Hosting successful events like the WA Open.
– Our extensive community engagement, which contributed to securing a rare 30-year lease renewal.
Equally important was Golf Australia’s recognition of our club governance and management—the structures we’ve built, our capacity for evolution, and our financial planning, all of which have delivered exceptional results.
Every member should feel proud of this recognition. It is a testament to the dedication of our stable and responsible committees over many years, our loyal and hardworking staff, and our supportive membership. Together, these elements create the foundation for a successful club.
The MCC Board views this not as a final destination, but as a milestone on our ongoing journey. We remain committed to our strategic path while continuing to provide a vibrant and rewarding club experience for today’s members.
To honour this achievement and thank our members, the Board is pleased to announce a week of celebration – September 22, 2025.
There will be no competition fees for core competitions:
- Wednesday Men.
- Thursday Women.
- Friday Veterans.
- Saturday Mixed.
At these competitions, we will provide some catering and refreshments.
- Lunch provided for Thursday Women’s competition.
- Sausage sizzle following Wednesday AM, Friday and Saturday AM fields.
- Finger food at Wednesday and Saturday presentations.
- A round of drinks at all presentations of these competitions .
This is a momentous occasion—and one truly worth celebrating. Thank you for being part of this journey.
