Obviously, there will be no weekly prize awarded as has been known and so next week will see the first official prize being awarded (possibly!!) Any one who was “knocked Out’ in this round has now been reinstated and we will start afresh from this week. You may also have noticed the margins are all set at 20. Not sure what will be the outcome of that, as it is beyond my control, suffice to say advantage no one at this point.
Now, with just the two games there is not much to crow about (unless your Kingsley ) however we did have 3 punters get both correct, well done to Haydos, Fyfey and Al Day, nice start!!
Alrighty then, so folks at the start now and we have 54 punters officially joined so well done and thank you to all!! We may yet pick up a few more as the season proper gets underway but at this stage this is what we are looking at in 2025.
We will have our weekly $20 prize for anyone who tips 9 correct winners. If there are multiple punters with 9, the first game margin will separate them out for an outright winner. In the event of no one tipping all 9, the weekly prize will jackpot until it goes off. This will also apply to the reduced game rounds in mid season.
We will have two prizes on offer of $50 each for the two derby’s, the first of which is in round 3. Pick your WA team and the margin, again, who dares wins with the game margin separating us out. If we have multiple exact same winners, the prize will be shared equally.
We will also have the Anzac day clash between the Pies and Bombers, pick your winner and the margin and yep, $50 is up for grabs
Of course, we will have first, second and third prizes awarded at the conclusion of the season, should look a little like this
First prize $1,000
Second prize $550
Third prize $320
Lastly, but by no means least, we have two additions to the prize pool this year.
Firstly, nominate the team you believe will win the flag in 2025 and a margin. You must make your choice by no later than Round 5, late entries will not be accepted. If your clairvoyant skills are accurate, $100 will be yours. If no-one gets it right, the prize will go back into the pool for distribution.
The second is a new weekly prize to be awarded. On Friday nights, one punters name will be drawn out during the presentations at the club house. If you are in attendance, you can claim your prize and enjoy. If not, the prize will jackpot until one of us gets the chockies. I must at this point thank the generous support of Grant and the team at MCC for continually getting behind our tipping and making this award possible. Even more reason to pop up to the club, enjoy a beer and/or a meal, you just never know your luck!!
Okay, bet you didn’t think after only two games I could rabbit on so much, but here we go, buckle up footy lovers. So, round one officially starts on Thursday with the Blues and Tigers to get us underway. Friday Hawks and Bombers will go at it, followed by the Cats hosting Freo, Sydney at home to Brissy, old rivals the Pies and Power do battle, Dogs and Kanga’s on Saturday night. On Sunday Crows and Saints get underway, Dee’s will host GWS and finally, the Eagles will take on the Suns at Optus to conclude week 1.
