Ladies Golf Division Update – 16 March 2022

Club Opening Day

The winter season, Club Opening Day, was held on Sunday 13 March, 2022 with a very successful mixed Canadian Foursomes. This was a great day and Congratulations to Tracey and Tony Musgrave who won the event. A most enjoyable meal was served that evening.

Ladies Opening Day

The Ladies opened their winter competition with a Fourball Ambrose on Tuesday 15^th March, 2022. There was 127 players. Congratulations to the winners – Kat Norris, Kerry Bouquet, Ros Sutton,Vicky Boys.

Our six participants of the Golf Scholarship were presented to the club by the Ladies Captain Marg Romaior on the Ladies Opening Day this week. We welcome the girls Charlotte, Alexandria, Isabella, Imogen, Chloe & Addison to the Golf program Program & Mandurah Country Club. Special Thanks to Judith Tuckey for coming to the club and meeting the girls.

You will see the girls around the club this year in their yellow branded Australian Golf Foundation shirts and hats please make them feel welcome. Mandurah Country Club was one of the lucky clubs to be awarded one of the 134 scholarship programs Australia wide for 2022 from AGF in collaboration with Golf Aust.

Outer Suburban Pennants

Good Luck to Fran Harris and the Outer Suburban Pennant Team who will start their campaign on Friday 18^th March, 2022. They play Rockingham at Gosnells at 8.30am.

Course Update – Monday 14 March 2022

Dear Members,

As part of the couch encroachment program, a chemical has been applied to areas on greens 10,11 and 17. Over the next week, the surrounds of these greens will die off and the bent grass will then rejuvenate over the coming months. It should have no effect on how the greens play, only aesthetics.

You may have noted this taking place on the practice green over the last month and the results have been encouraging, with the next application being three greens on course.

This is planned works and if the success of this process continues, it will relieve the need to undertake construction works to replace grasses, which has a greater impact back to play.
