Women’s Outer Suburban Pennants Results – Completed.

The Women’s Outer Suburban Pennant commenced it’s season on Friday 18th March 2022.

Round 3 – Monday 11 April 2022 – A very good game at Rockingham against The Cut.  Unfortunately we lost 3 games to 4, but the final outcome could have gone either way.

Results in playing order were : Monica Durrant won 2 up, Bev Byrne lost 3/2, Gillian Holland won 3/2, Jan Williamson lost 3/2, Rossi Rossiter lost 1 down, Erica Evans lost 2/1, Mel Jones won 1 up. 

Each game was keenly fought and a great effort by all  team members and caddies.

A special mention to Mel, who won her first ever game of pennants in a tight game that was never more than 1 up or 1 down.

Mandurah Country Club was well represented with 5 Juniors competing from our club on Sunday 27 February 2022 at Pinjarra Golf Club, Great to see the hard work from our Clinics & our On-Course Sundays that are starting to show results.

Ladies 9 Hole Competition (commencing March 2022)

The Club and Match have met with some of our regular 9 hole female players to work out the best arrangement for this Golf Season starting March until November 2022.

• 9 hole competitions to take place at the completion of the 18 hole cross over times around 11:30am to 11:35am.
• A 9 hole coordinator will be in place and they will run presentations and prize giving at the completion of the competition, We thank Sue Hall and Kimberley Ellery for volunteering to be the coordinators this year.
• There will be limited 9 hole competition times reserved at the 18 hole cross over times of 9:30am.

9 hole competitions are extremely important to the club with a lot of our older members not wanting to play 18 holes or a number of newer ladies joining the club and seeing 9 holes as a pathway or just their preferred option.

There is only limited times available on the course and ideally, we would love to see a full field of 18 holes ladies and then a large field of 9 hole ladies as well.

Given the recent strength of female golf and the success of our clinics, this seems to be the direction.

We will be some time off reaching these numbers so we are able to cater for some of our members to play 9 holes in earlier spots, where they feel comfortable playing at the same time as our traditional 18 hole members.  These are limited and reserved for current members of the club with new members playing in the organised 9 hole time where presentations will take place.

MCC AFL Footy Tipping 2022 Season

So the footy season is only a couple of weeks away, first game of the season will be held on Wednesday 16 March 2022, and what a game that will be, Melbourne v Bulldogs, last years grand final teams.

So who wants join the MCC Footy Tipping Competition for 2022 ??
