Mandurah Country Club are now seeking applicants for the 2025 Australian Golf Foundation Junior Girls Scholarship.
Following our successful 2022, 2023 & 2024 program – we are now seeking expression of interest for our 2025 intake of the Australian Golf Foundation Junior Girls Scholarship.
Mandurah Country Club has obtained funding from The Australian Golf Foundation (AGF) to support six lucky teenage girls to pursue their golf.
Scholarships are open to girls aged 9 to 16 and while the program’s primary aim is to retain girls in golf by giving girls a shared golf experience, girls new to golf may also be engaged in this program should they demonstrate a commitment to learning the sport.
The Scholarship program is part of a national campaign to get more girls playing golf. All we ask is that applicants display a desire and willingness to improve their golf skills, obtain a handicap, play in club competitions (or at least social play) and engage in any extra-curricular activity that fosters friendships between scholarship holders.
Not only will girls receive 24 coaching sessions with Craig Tapp Peel Golf Academy, but also a one year junior club membership, which helps to ensure girls obtain a handicap. A maximum of 6 scholarships are available for the start of Term 1 – 2025.
For further information and to apply, please contact Mandurah Country Club or Junior Co-ordinator Vanessa Day 0415 984 868 or awday77@hotmail.com.
We have booked a Charity event for Breast Cancer tomorrow Saturday 16 November 2024, The Mandurah Angels. Their attendee numbers have swelled far more than we expected, which will now put pressure on parking during the middle of the day. We will open spaces near the practice range net, chipping green and in around the Cart Store area, whilst cars may park on the front lawn areas. If you can carpool with friends, this would be helpful too.
In past years, we have booked functions on Friday nights in the clubhouse over this busy period leading into Christmas however, with the growth of Friday nights compared to previous years, we have stopped doing this. We do however have one historical booking to honour this Friday night.
Normal food service will still be available in the bar.
We historically shut the Kitchen through January however, with so many members enjoying Friday nights, we will shut food service for just two weeks over Christmas, returning the second week of the new year.
The modernising of the Clubhouse sees the facility in extremely high demand, and the additional use is beneficial for the Club. We are very conscious of minimising disruption to members, and we have managed the majority of bookings around or outside of core club activities. From time to time there may be an inconvenience, and certainly these two were not intended to be so, which we apologise for.
